Grandmother’s Quilt Folded

Grandmother's Quilt Folded

Quilters affect eternity; they can never tell where their influence stops.

Acrylic on Canvas, 36 x 48 inches, ready to hang – $1,200

Every Southern home needs a family heirloom quilt. This painting is based on my Grandmother’s quilt from around 1939. The material for the squares came from my Mother’s and my Aunts’ dresses that had worn out but still held good material to comfort the family on dark winter nights.

To create this work I laid the quilt on the canvas, photographed it, then sketched the quilt from the photograph back onto the canvas.
