Encaustic, on art board, 7½ x 9½ inches framed, 2016 –

This is a hybrid, dimensional piece. The young woman was painted on a separate board using a hot calligraphy pen tip, cut out, and applied to the background. The background was painted using brushes. As a dimensional piece, the figure stands away from the rest of the piece which produces a distinct feeling to her presence, even from across a room.
